With all this recent talk of "first words", I've been openly sharing that my 17 1/2 month old still hasn't spoken a word (or at least not by my definition). Babbling and experimenting with sounds? ... yes. But a real, articulate, and intended word? ... no.
Until today ......
She grabbed my purse, walked over to the door, and said "bye bye". And not the usual ba-ba that she's been uttering for months, but a real, true, "bye bye".
I was absolutely tickled.
And then it dawned on me ..... my first word was "bye bye" too.
Awweeee ......... : )

...I am gearing up for her to start asking for money when she grabs my purse
Too funny that you both said bye bye. I can't remember what her first word was let alone mine!
