I'm a GRANDMA!! (x posted) PICTURE!!

At 6:02 tonight my beautiful stepdaughter had a healthy, gorgeous, 7 pound 3 ounce baby girl. Melanie Brianne was quick, only hard labour for 3ish hours, regular contractions for about 9, and less then an hour of pushing. I was honoured to get to hold Mommys leg and watch the whole thing. Oh, she is just so precious, it's late now, so I won't get pics up till tomorrow, but WOW! I get all teary just thinking about it!! Born on her due date too - and 2 days after Grandma's 30th birthday... I'm still shaking and grinning!

    She is just beautiful!!

    I'm a young "grandma" too. I just turned 30 and DH's grandbabies are all older than our baby. LOL It makes for an interesting dynamic.... :)

    They don't call me grandma; they just call me by my first name.

    OH MY Goodness, she is so adorable!!!!!!! congrats Grandma:) It is a wonderful feeling being a grandma I cherish every moment we have with our grandchildren.

    I can't wait until they are all settled so we can spend more time with her... I went up to see them yesterday and they thought they would be getting out of the hospital today - if so Tim and I both have the day off tomorrow so we'll go over and make sure they're settling into home nicely sometime during the day. Nothing like snuggling a newborn!

    Thanks! What I find funny is when they chose the name Melanie about 6 months ago already I kind of wrinkled my nose, it's not MY style... but the minute she was born it didn't matter anymore... Melanie is MY granddaughter and THATS all that matters! Now I totally understand my Mom, who said the same thing about my son's name (Troy) when he was born!
