New to clomid

Hello. I just got lab results back from the doctor who says I have PCOS and will be prescribing me Clomid. I was wondering if anyone had any advice for how many cycles I should be on it for before I order sperm. I read online you should not stay on it for more than 6 cycles but I feel like I need to track my cycle to make sure I'm ovulating before I order sperm. Any suggestions?
