What a fiasco trying to see my cervix!

OMG! I tried for 1st time to look at my cervix- what a fiasco! New speculum was too small & narrow, flashlight batteries died after a minute, I couldn't prop mirror correctly, pillows kept slipping, my neck was hurting from trying to see everything!

So I just ordered a 25 pack of disposable speculums in a medium size instead, as well as a lighted magnifying mirror... there goes another $100!

After this I wonder how I'll be successful in doing ICI all by myself next week!
age 45,Minnesota,TTC frozen sperm donor,#1 at home 3 ICIs, BFN.
#2 fertility specialist, Clomid&trigger, IUI BFN, good response, timing off.

Was skipping July cycle due to cysts, was going to TTC later in August, but due to irregular cycles and age issues, decided to stop TTC :(

    It's really hard when you're doing it all by yourself. But some women are able to do it and have beautiful little ones to prove it. I had the same kind of problems as you, now I have help!

    Even with DW looking in there, it was freaking ridiculous! The spec pinches my vaginal walls when it closes, I can never get enough lube (as I instantly dry up when the spec comes out). It was a lot closer than I thought and can be reached with the syringe. I flipped the switch and tried to use spec on DW to check out her cervix (she offered so we'd be even) and I was like "What the heck am I looking for?!" I've NEVER paid this much attention to my body before! Best of luck to you!! Are you using a handheld mirror or a wall size one?

    I'm glad you have someone to help, it would be so much easier that way! :)
    It's a good thing I ordered 3 vials, because I'm sure to screw up one of them lol

    I am using a hand held mirror, a conair makeup one, not again!!

    I ordered a tabletop light up mirror- figured it would be a little bigger, yet still is small, but magnifies 9x and has built in bright light equivalent to 100 watts- i hope it is worth the $60 I paid for it!

    It is so funny how you weren't sure what you were looking for, I feel the same way lol... I actually thought it would be so much easier, not like the comedy show it was lol ;)

    there is a really good website that has pictures of cervixes during different days of the cycle and even some that show almost a whole cycle of cervix pics from the same person (so you can see the changes as the month progresses).

    Wow, this website certainly shows a cervix in detail... very helpful... now hopefully I'll be able to find mine when I get the right sized speculum and light up magnifying mirror which is supposed to be delivered on Friday. :)
