Dollar Store Test

edited November -1 in Trying to Conceive
So, I stopped and bought a dollar store test today. It sure was nice to only pay a dollar instead of $21. on a three pack of FRER's!

As I stood there staring at the test, the second like did not show up. I thought, well, of course ain't that how it goes. Then right before my eyes the second line started to appear. I then thought, well these are cheap tests and it is probably an evap line (even though it is a red dye test, I have gotten a false positive on a blue lined test). But, it sunk in pretty quick!

There is definitely two lines there!!! Maybe I will try to post a pic...

Thanks Ladies!!! I haven't gotten around to figuring out how to get my photo off my phone (I don't have internet on my phone). I think I can send it as a text to my email, idk. But, those two lines are there! I know because I keep checking them. ;)

A few stats: I took 50mg of generic Clomid cd 7-9. I actually took it late the night before so, late cd 6-8. I didn't take the whole 5 days because I believe I ovulate on my own and I read some place on the net that a 3 day regimen can still increase chances of conception. But is not as helpful (as a 5 day regimen) in producing ovulation if one is not already ovulating. I got my smiley at 10:20am on cd 14. The last time I tested was at 1:30am the night before and I had only held my pee for 2 hrs. So, there was a big window when my surge could have started. I insemed at 8am the next morning on cd 15. That's about 22 hrs post smiley. I did one at-home IUI with one vial of IVF format. Now, I can't be certain if I got all the way to the uterus, but the catheter went in pretty far! I have no way of estimating how far because there are not measurements on the catheter (there should be!) One thing I did different this month is I did the thaw process differently. I was letting the vial sit out for a while while I fooled around trying to get things set up (I do not have the kinda boobs that can hold a vial ;) . This time I had the tank right by me and had the speculum in with cervix in sight. So, I laid there like that while I held the vial to bring it to room temp. As soon as I could touch the vial with my bare hands is when I started to thaw it. BTW, NW said that when I was taking longer to thaw, it wouldn't make a difference.

This month I also kept my mind on other things and didn't think about ttc as much. I couldn't have forced this mind-set, it just happened.

Oh yeah, my only symptoms in the TWW included being a little extra crabby and short with my friends the past week or so. I did notice I was a little extra hungry this past week and I've been eating extra. I noticed a little bit difference with my tummy, like it's bigger a tiny bit. This sparked my curiosity. It was probably due to eating more, but it was still a slight change that I noticed. Also, I have had the worst cold the last week or so also! Ugh, I feel sick. I haven't gotten a cold/flu for a few years.

I'm not posting my story in the BFP Database, probably till after the baby is born because I have had a 14wk mc. So, stick little bean stick!!!!!

Congratulations! That is really dark for a dollar store test. With our BFP, the dollar store tests (because we bought every kind) were barely visible, even after aunt flo's missed due date.
