Light Spotting and cramping at 5 weeks

I am 5 weeks today. But when i used the restroom, i noticed light pink blood in the toilet and also when i wiped. I haven't seen any more since then, but i have some mild cramping on my right side. I is like i am feeling i am starting my period. I was suppose to start last Monday.
has anyone experienced this before? I am freaking out reading articles online

    Hang in there...many women have some spotting and early pregnancy is filled with all kinds of aches and pains. I am hoping the best for you. Relax and drink plenty of fluids...stress won't help.

    It is scary, but does happen to a lot of women. With my first pregnancy I spotted on and off for several weeks. The first signs of spotting started around week 5/6. I even had bright red blood with some clotting, tmi I know, but just saying scary stuff happens. I didn't have any reasons that could be determined for this bleeding. I went on to have a very healthy, happy pregnancy and now have a beautiful 4.5 year old daughter. Hang in there!

    That gives me some relief. This is my first pregnancy and i read suck scary things online and of course it is the worse cases.

    yeah I have had it and for me its NOT normal. it always ends in loss for me if I spot. be prepared. I hope nothing comes of it. are you on progesterone?

    no i am not. I went in for blood work thrusday friday and saturday, hoping my HCG levels are rising.

    well spotting can be a sign of low progesterone, which is what sustains the pregnancy. I would assume they tested for that if they tested your HCG levels. ask em :)

    i went to get my blood work done two different times and everything they said looks good and levels are rising. They still a a bit concern with the spotting and pushed up my appointment 2 weeks
