Wife is in the middle of IVF to freeze

I know I had written a while back that my wife and I will be doing reciprocal IVF when we try for our next baby (Ruthie will be a month tomorrow)! She's in the middle of her IVF cycle. Last count was about 15 eggs with the three largest bring 15, 14.5 and 14.5. We go in for another ultrasound tomorrow morning to see how things are progressing. Anyone else mid cycle?

We're not mid cycle - my next cycle will be a FET sometime in the August-February 2016 range - but that's an awesome response!! Can't wait for an update :)
TTC since September 2007 - 8 donor insems in 2012, all BFN. DH had varicocele repair #2 1/3/14.
It worked! Two clomid cycles and two IUI's with injectables all BFN, on to IVF! 3dt of 2 perfect embryos on 12/15/14, BFP 7dp3dt! Frederick Lars born at 37 weeks on 8/15/15!! FET for #2 on 9/29/16 - BFP 5dp5dt!! Bertram Wilder and Mabel Moon born at 28.4 weeks on 3/29/17!

That sounds like a great response!

My wife & I are both going to do a freezing cycle soon for future reciprocal IVF, but not until Dec at the earliest. We don't have any fertility issues and we both gave birth with pregnancies created through non-medicated DIY at-home IUIs, but we're very low on vials & love the idea of carrying for each other, so more kids = IVF.

Did your wife have any fertility issues (aside from lack of sperm)? I'm super interested in hearing about your journey if you're open to sharing, and the IVF protocol, what meds your doc used, how many vials your clinic uses for a round, etc - especially if you guys had no underlying fertility issues that prompted you to choose IVF.

I'm a little nervous because we want enough viable embryos so we can each have one more pregnancy, but don't want a gazillion frosties left over (6 kids is the absolute max that we'd be up for).

Hey all! So we triggered last night at 8:30 for our retrieval tomorrow morning at 8:30! She had around 20 measurable follicles and they anticipate numerous mature ones. She did the antagonist protocol and used follistim, menopur, and ganirellix. She has endometriosis but no underlying issues. Great egg count, she's 29, and we are only doing this so we could get the eggs before 30. I probably didn't answer all your questions but this new format doesn't allow me to read all the questions! I will update tomorrow with the initial egg count :)

Holy cow, how exciting! How do you all afford IVF multiple times? We haven't even done it once, but just the costs of birth and prenatal care is outrageous for us.

Yaaaay that's great news!! Can't wait to hear the fertilization report!

hoping4number2 - not sure about the rest of the IVF ladies, but we have IVF coverage through my husband's Starbucks job, so our whole cycle with meds and copays probably cost about 2k out of pocket. Our birth was about 2k as well and we're still paying that (and Freddie's NICU stay) off.

We were covered for the first one because we had six unsuccessful IUIs and I had a diagnosable fertility problem. My wife works for the university and that's how we get our insurance and since we used the RE at the university we still got 40% off so total it was $5600 for ivf with icsi. We are freezing so that was it, no transfer fee. 30k is outrageous. You could go to my clinic with flights and hotels and it would still be cheaper. Shop around!

Fertilization report however was 7 fertilized normally and potentially one more that we are watching!! So so happy :)
