    hello all
I am not one to participate/ post on forums but I am feeling somewhat deflated after attending a baby shower this weekend so I figured some support might do me some good. My husband and I are newly married but have been TTC for 3 years. It wasn't long into the process that I knew something was amiss. I assumed it was me. I've always had pretty awful periods. As it turns out I have no known issues but my beautiful husband has azoospermia. We never really got an answer as to the cause/reason but were told that we could easily spend thousands or more on invasive procedures or genetic testing only to find there isn't anything that can be done and that insemination with donor sperm or adoption are our only family building options.

I had my 1st IUI in feb 2012 (trigger shot 36 hours before) sadly it was unsuccessful. We are going in for IUI #2 this week. My RE prescribed clomid (which made me insane) cycle days 5-9 to increase our chances, though i am thankfully ovulating on my own. I have been doing my affirmations daily but I am already feeling defeated which I know isn't good.

Anyway, sorry for the novel. That's my saga thus far. I can genuinely say that I hope that every person on this forum who desires a child will be successful and soon. <3 i am just so thankful this option exist.

Hi, we're new to the forum and thought we'd introduce ourselves... We're TTC this month for the first time.
    Meet our family:

Cori (Po'd Box) and I (Becca, or, Bamphetamine) met through roller derby and the rest was history... Cori has a daughter, Kaidyn, from a previous relationship and we have an excellent modern family situation. Kaidyn calls us both mom (or some variation of mom) and we share her with her dad and stepmom who live across town. Kaidyn has been begging for a sibling for years now, and we decided that now is a great time to add to our family.

    Wish us luck!

Hi my name is Lisa, I am from Illinois. My husband and I got married in October of 2011 and we have been together since 2004. We are gonna try hopefully to do a home insemination. My Husband has two children from a previous marriage and thought things were going great and got a vasectomy well things weren't so great and marriage fell apart. But its been about 12 years since he had it. And way too expensive to get a reversal. So we talked about it for about 3 years and I looked into donor sperm and brought it up to him. He is already asking when are we gonna start. At first was kind of nervous about bringing it up to him. Now to decide on if I want to do a photo match or not. I will update soon.

    Hi, all!!!
I have been away for awhile, so I will play the "re-indroduction" game since I see so many new faces.
My name is Molly and my DW is Courtney and we have been married for two years this August. We started TTC in September of 2010, but jobs got crazy and we decided to wait for awhile. We tried a few times since, but no luck. We are back to full time TTC now, so I have been stalking the site again.
We are at 13 DPO and no AF yet :) Praying for baby dust lol

My name is Heleen, I am 37 years old and single, and finally brave enough to decide to TTC. It's quite a step of deciding to move on once Mr Right doesn't seem to be around on this planet. My parents are not very supportive, don't want to hear anything about it although I did tell them I am doing TCC in August. It's hard, I only told two other people who are supportive but still I got the feeling I need some approval from my family. I know it's normal but well it's just hard. Does that make sense to you guys?
Anyway, I choose a rather new donor, no 4303, so there are no reported pregnancies yet. Did any of you work with this donor?
Looking forward to be around here more often

Welcome Heleen! My mom isn't in love with the idea of me TCC as a single woman either. I completely understand the need for family approval, but I just think when its all a theory, its hard for them to accept. I think once a baby becomes a reality both of our families will be on board. But I'm glad you've found this place....its so nice to have a group of people who understand EXACTLY what you are going through! Good luck!

    Hello all,

I am a 28 yo African American SMBC(or hoping fx) from central Florida. Some of my friends are married with babies or umarried even and some are single without any kids...to each her own. Luckily it's not about them it's about me. Or us TTCers rather. :D it is my firm belief that my body, my choice spans far wider than some might concieve....heh, no pun intended. I am a pharmacist by profession and really don't care if Mr. Right is out there or not. If he is great, but if not....i wont settle. But I know what is out there....the possibility for family on my own. Cart or horse, it doesn't matter which comes first to me in all honesty.Motherhood just isn't something I'm willing to sacrifice like most of us here.

Incidentally, I posted a different intro last night, but I'm sorry to report I lost one of the loves of my life. My 8 yo old Chihuhua Chanel. I am just so devastated. :( my first baby who taught me how to love won't get to share this process with me...and we shared many special moments. I guess that's why we call outr closest friends our "dogs"'. Best love. And my other dog Chelsea is just heartbroken waiting for her to come back....but I think she knows. :(

TTC helps me keep my mind calmish despite the grief...... So anyhow, I purchased 2 vials, one IUI and one ICI for delivery on March 28th. The wait is torturous as I thought I'd be "normal" but instead have a 41 day cycle and 17 day lp....like I told a buddy of mine ;) ...it's literally like watching paint dry. But here I am... My family, mom dad, friends everyone is very supportive...even a little pushy... A family is something I've wanted for a long time. When you have your mom asking you details and starts crying and suggesting names, I think that's the green light. Lol. And Dad too...he might be worse than mom. :D

I just want to thank all of you for your invaluable advice and stories. Your wisdom is priceless
and this community is a true lifesaver. You TTCers are true soldiers and I'm honored and excited to join the ranks. Fx and sticky dust for all!!!!

    Hi,
I am a 44 yr old single mom of 3 sons, ages almost 25, 21, and almost 11. My 2 older sons are adults living their own lives- My youngest son has been asking for a baby brother or sister for a while now. I am TTC by ICI at home with frozen sperm- I have been single for over 11 years, with the way things have been for me I'll be 80 before I meet my Mr. Right lol, and I don't want to miss my chance of having a baby due to my age!

My youngest son and I recently moved to Minnesota from New Jersey. When I was in New Jersey I was a therapeutic foster parent- I took care of children who were special needs, hard to place, with emotional/behavioral challenges. I loved having a houseful of children, and I know for my youngest son ( who also has special needs) it was nice for him to have "siblings" since his older brothers were so much older than him and didn't live at home since they were adults. I am hoping to be successful in TTC by ICI at home, or by IUI at doctor office, since IVF wouldn't be a possibility due to the cost.

I am doing this all by myself; I don't have anyone who could help me, so any help/suggestions/advice is really appreciated.

Wishing everyone here a BFP :D
age 45,Minnesota,TTC frozen sperm donor,#1 at home 3 ICIs, BFN.
#2 fertility specialist, Clomid&trigger, IUI BFN, good response, timing off.
    #3plan b2bIUIs Clomid&trigger-cycle cancelled poor Clomid response.
    #4 used Gonal F &trigger, b2b IUIs, BFN.
Was skipping July cycle due to cysts, was going to TTC later in August, but due to irregular cycles and age issues, decided to stop TTC :(

My name is Beth and my DH is Tim. We have been married for almost 12 years. I had a son naturally when I was 19 and I am now 32. My husband is 42 and had a vasectomy so we are not able to use his sperm. We have tried on and off on our own for a few years but I am not sure that we really ever had the timing quite right. After years of trying we gave up and adopted our daughter Emma. We decieded to be foster parents and got our third child a beautiful baby boy from the day he was born. The state sometimes makes no since and after raising this baby for 14 months he was adopted by another family. I now have an empty place in my heart and I am ready for my third baby. We decided to go straight to the RE. I had a hysteropinglegram and that came back great. I had all my blood back and that was great. I have had one baseline ultrasound and I had six follicles on each side. I am trying at home this month with a known donor hoping that it works. The only thing that is not on my side is the fact that I am very overweight. I want this so bad. I think about what the feeling will be when the test says BFP!!!!

My name is Kate and my DW J and I are planning to TTC shortly. We got married 5 years ago and started foster parenting about a month later - completely crazy but we love being moms more than anything! We fostered 17 kids, 3 of them for over a year. We keep in touch with those 3 and they still consider us their moms - and when people ask me, we have 4 children! But we got tired of grieving lost kids and felt that the Universe didn't seem to want us to adopt, so we decided to TTC. We conceived our son, Theo, (via NW) at home on the first try - I guess the powers that be approved of the change! He is now a big, happy one-year-old. J carried first, so I'm up next. We were going to begin TTC in April, but are now going to see a specialist first due to some cycle issues - we want to have the same donor for the next one and don't want to waste any of those precious vials! That's our family in a nutshell. Best of luck to everyone!
My amazing wife is the bedrock of our family. Three beloved foster children now in far flung places. One beautiful son born in March 2011. One amazing daughter born December 2014. We are blessed!

    Hi!
31 yrs old, DH and I are TTC with donor sperm.
He has a birth defect that caused us to go this route.
We just started this month with our fertility clinic and had xrays and ultrasound to check me out. Also just ordered from NW Cryobank and plan on a IUI there at the clinic. 3/30 was our first try. Fingers Crossed!

    Hi all-
I am a mother of 2 beautiful boys from NW, I really thought that I was done but would really like to have another baby but would like to use the same donor. It was #222. I don't know if there is a possibility but if there is anyone out there that doesn't need there vials any longer we would love to have the oportunity to try to have another and have it be from the same donor. Just thought I would but it out there.
    Thanks

Just thought that I would say hello to everyone and give a little insite as to were I am at on ttc journey... ;)

My husband and I have been ttc for over a year now. With no success! I also have PCOS I went to my GYN and found out that my eggs were not maturing. He then started me on Clomid. I did 2 cycles of Clomid(25mg) no egg first cycle and small one second cycle. So for the third cycle we upped the dosage to 50md of clomid and no egg again!

In March I went and seen a Reproductive Endrocrinologist and am currenlty waiting on a bunch of tests. She started me on prometrium sence I do not have a menses. Have to do more bloodwork and a Sonohysterogram. My husband also has to to a seaman analysis. If all test are ok(fingers crossed) she is talking about starting me on femara and menopur.

Just a little insite for everyone if anyone!! :D

hello everyone! i've been looking around the forums for a few weeks, but never had anything to post. i'm Kim and my husband is Ed. i'm an army wife living in louisiana right now. we've been together 5 years and married 3 years. my husband had a vasectomy after his two children were born with his ex wife and that was about 8 years ago. we tried having it reversed but it didn't work. now we decided a donor would be our next choice.

this month will be our first time trying. i have no known issues and i'm only 29 so i'm hoping for the best. i've been tracking my BBT and doing OPK's. i have a pretty good idea on timing, but i'm so nervous about missing it even by an hour. everything i've read makes it seem like getting pregnant is a slim chance even though it happens on accident all the time. the only thing that gets me sad is that i'll never have that surprise pregnancy. but other than that i'm very optimistic about the whole thing.

best of luck to all of you trying as well :D

Hello Everyone! We are new to this forum but not new to trying to conceive. My DP and I have been trying for the last 3 years and have been together for 12 years. I have been through one IVF cycle and one FET cycle both with BFN. :( We are going to try AI at home this month with the hopes of a BFP. We have been lurking on this forum for about 3 months and it has brought us great hopes.

This is my 2nd introduction! My partner and I started TTC in 2009 and quit in 2010. At the time I didn't think we would TTC anymore but we have changed our minds. We just moved to Oregon from California a month ago, so we won't start TTC for a few months. I'm 36, my name is Shannon and I will be the one carrying if we are lucky enough to get pregnant. My partner Shelley is 45, we have been together for 8 years in June. We have a 10 acre property with 12 chickens, 2 sheep and 5 goats. One of goats is pregnant so in a few months we'll have more kids around here!
Since it's been 2 years since we last ordered sperm I'll need to fill out my registration forms again. I'd also like to lose some weight, start taking prenatals again and start doing acupuncture.
Last time I was doing IUI's with my Dr. using Clomid, HCG trigger shots and Metformin. This time I'll use OPK's and do ICI at home - low pressure low stress.

TTC with PCOS and Endometriosis - 3 surgeries, 6 months of Lupron shots

We've decided to stop TTC and focus our energy on foster adoption! Our children are out there somewhere!

Hi there. I'm Brandy. I'm 35 and my DH is 43. We are going thru this again. We tried about 2 years ago but stopped after one IUI due to he was traveling and I couldn't do it alone. Too stressfull. We are using donor sperm due to an accident my DH had about 10 years ago. We have 2 gorgeous 15 year old sons. One biological and one adopted. I've always wanted more children but the timing was never right. So I gave up. And it killed me to think I was never going to hold another baby again. So after a date night and a loooooong talk we decided to try again. I'm super excited and already stressed. I go see my fertility doc tomorrow to get my new work up and talk about options. I have mod pcos so I never get periods. So I'll probably do clomid this try. Last time was injectables and those set my emotions thru the roof. I've done clomid before about 8 years ago and I did fine on it ( before we knew DH could not produce)
So that's my journey so far. Hopefully it all works out this time. This site is awesome and I have been lurking for a while now.
    Good luck to all!!!
