My questions are

I have included the link to my chart. It is the cycle starting March 16.

I did notice what I think were O pains at about 8am on cd 15

I am 39 yrs old, do you think that the first smiley on cd 13 was correct?.... and that I really o'd 56 hours after that first smiley?

or did I O before the next smiley (at 8am on cd 15).. I am sorry for being confusing.

I am just worried about this cycle... do you think I should base my timing on the first smiley I get (since it wasn't until 56 hours later that I o'd)...

What day/time would you insem with a chart like this.?.

I was on clomid cd5-9 for the first time ever, and will be doing the same this cycle. My doctor is not very helpful at all, and I feel like I get better info. from all the ladies on this forum then the doctor.

"O"pains don't always occur exactly when you are ovulating. You can have ovulation pains in the hours before or after you ovulate.

However, looking at your chart I would assume you ovulated on CD15. How many vials are you using this cycle? If you are using more than one, then I wouldn't disregard the first smiley you get.

Have you charted any other months other than this one?

It's very hard to say while just looking at one chart. Personally, by temp and +OPKs, I would say you ovulated on CD 16. However, whichever day you believe you ovulated in March, it may not be that helpful if you don't have it in context. For example, I believe you may have begun to surge on CD 13 and then didn't. The levels went back down for CD 14. Then your body really surged on CD 15 and continued onto CD 16. Purely by temp, I see CD 16 as O day, because I put more weight into a strong rise and don't see .2 degrees as a sharp enough rise. I'm interested to know why FF says CD 15, but it may be as simple as that is your lowest temp day and you did get a +OPK on CD 13. I often have a low, low, low temp, then I have a temp a tenth of a degree higher or so, and then I get a clear thermal shift. Fertility Friend almost always confirms that my lowest temp day isn't the day I ovulated, but I have never had a +OPK turn - and then + again, so that may be the difference.

Even if this is true for March, it may not be true for April. That's why I wonder if you have other charts with more data to look at? In April you may get your +OPK and ovulate right away, unlike March, or your body may do exactly what it did in March.

After months of recording my temp and +OPKs, I've moved on to the trigger shot. I found by looking at the first +OPK to the temp shift, I have up to a 72 hour window. We've moved on to a RE and the trigger shot to narrow that window. It was just too big for tiny, frozen sperm to make it, I think. Do you think your doctor would do the trigger shot with you, if you were interested?

EDIT- OOPS... I can't seem to get the code for my February chart. But, basically, it was anovulatory... no crosshairs drawn on the chart at all. The temps were up and down throughout the whole cycle.

Aplusa, this is my chart for February... It pretty much appears anovulatory... which is why I started clomid in March.

My doctor is an ob... The only fertility specialist in my state... want about $3000 for one cycle! (not including sperm and shipping which is another $700 for only ONE vial- includes $200 for shipping).... So, I am trying at home first.

Our RE is so expensive as well, but not that bad! :( We are not doing medicated, but the IUI is $535 (without sperm). The ultrasounds are $200-300 each. Thankfully, the ultrasounds are coded as diagnostic so they are covered up to 80% by our insurance. The "treatments" (IUIs) are not covered at all. Since your OB prescribes Clomid, s/he might also be able to do a trigger shot if this cycle doesn't work.

I hate to say, but I don't really have a good time to suggest as we covered every part of our window from 0 hours past +OPK to ~ 72 hours past +OPK and never got that elusive BFP. :( Good luck!

I see that you are using a regular thermometer. I recommend getting a BBT one so you have a more accurate picture of your temps. That will help you LOADS in the long run. Walmart and Walgreens sell them.

Grace... Actually, I know this sounds silly.. but I didn't even realize that there was a special BBT thermometer... and then when I did, I didn't want to change thermometers mid cycle... But, it is something to think about....

Thanks for all answers so far!
