I'm out... New plan again..not feeling very optimistic...

I'm out for this past cycle. AF showed her ugly face yesterday on CD25 (11 DPI). :(

So today went back to specialist to have baseline u/s. I'm CD2. This cycle plan is 100mg Clomid CD3-9. CD10 have u/s check follies & Ovidrel trigger when mature. Then do back to back IUIs, 1st IUI 12hrs past trigger & 2nd IUI 36 hrs past trigger.

Has anyone taken Clomid for more days than usual 3-7 or 5-9 & what timing worked for IUIs? Only difference for me from last cycle is I'll be on Clomid 2 extra days but at same dosage. Only had 3 follies last time & hope to have more this time. Any suggestions? Don't think they want to do injectables yet, but I told them I can only afford this cycle & 1 more if it doesn't work.

I'm not feeling optimistic since my 45th birthday is in 2 days... my eggs now have canes, false teeth, & wearing Depends cause they're so old!

I am almost 42 and was told that with the shorter cycles that I am premenopausal. Has this been discussed? Mine started being shorter last June. Last cycle I took 100mg Clomid and had a perfect 28 days cycle. I really hope that the proposed course of action works for you!

With all the blood work I've had and other tests I was told I am definitely not premenopausal. My cycles have been very regular at 25-26 days long for many years. Even on the Clomid last month my cycle remained the same length. All my levels (FSH, E2, LH, prolactin, progesterone) and lining (13mm) were great, and my ovarian reserve is still good, luckily. The problem is as we age our egg quality goes down, even if we have a good reserve still. That is why the more follies, the more chances that at least one will be a good egg and get fertilized.

I just wish I had more money then I would just do IVF where my chances of success are the greatest. But due to costs, it is not an option, so hoping doing B2B IUIs and taking Clomid & using trigger will work...

I know what you mean about old eggs. :( I just turned 40 and I am so worried this just isn't going to work. I have read that COQ10 is supposed to help with egg quality so I am taking that now and hoping for the best. Just thought I would mention it to you in case you wanted to give it a try. It is on the pricey side, but if it works... :) You have cycles like I do - usually 26 days and they've been that way for years. We may be cycle buddies if you are trying this month. I am on CD 2. :)

yep, we are cycle buddies solejean :)

I am already taking CoQ10, 200 mg a day and have been taking it for about 1 1/2 months now. Also I take prenatal vitamins, omegas, inositol, and calcium.

I take 900 mg a day. :-) I haven't started taking inositol, but might add that in. Well, hopefully this next time will be a BFP for both of us. Since my birthday was Monday and yours is Friday it would be a nice birthday gift for us. :D

Hope this is the winning formula for you!! I have a friend who took Clomid for 7 days and she responded great and got PG that cycle. So it can work.

I had one iui timed at 36 hours exactly for both of my bfp cycles. Not sure if your dr would consider a mini stim protocol for you next cycle if this one doesn't work. It's just one added injectable med and that cost me the least of all of it (with having to have 3 ultrasounds the last cycle!). Anyway, that was the winning combo for me - it worked 2 out of 3 tries and wouldn't add more than about $120 to your next try! If you have any questions about it, you can pm me :) oh, and I think doing one at 12 hours also, is a good idea because experts say that the older the eggs, the quicker their outer shell hardens - meaning they may still be around at the 12 or 24 hour mark just like they always were, but the outer shell may be too hard for the swimmers to penetrate by then because of their age. So I think your plan is good!

Anyway, even with canes and depends, they can still get to the same place eventually and will still be attractive to some rosy eyed swimmer ;) - let's hope this is their time to shine!!
After 9 yrs & 1 devastating loss, we got our BFP at 9DPO ~ and welcomed our beautiful son on Halloween! Best treat ever!!
