Jumping Sperm!!

An interesting thing happened today when insemming, when I took the vial out of the dewar I set it onto the counter (as I've done before) so that the frost could do it's thing before we could touch it. Within moments of me putting the vial down it popped UP into the air about a few centimeters! I thought I was crazy and then I saw it do it again! I quickly tried to grab my phone out to video it, and it did it a third time!! But then it stopped once the camera was out, figures right? It actually managed to move at least an inch or two through this popping movement! Talk about swimmers that are a little overzealous to get the show on the road! Let's just hope they brought that same enthusiasm into the big game! LOL

But no seriously, has anyone else ran into this before? I've never before, I assume it has to do with the change in temp from the dewar to the room. Though it was in the same room I've defrosted two other vials, so yeah, crazy huh!?

I think all of my vials have a tiny explosion when I open them. It always oozes out over the edge from the pressure. I wonder if this depends on the distance. I'm in the Caribbean so that's pretty far and I think you're in FL?

Hmmm... Never happened to us in 7 at-home cycles in Florida, but we were coastal. It's breezier there?! ;)

It wasn't really an explosion when opening the vial, but rather the whole vial jumped up. It was so weird, and I've never had that happen in the three other at home attempts. I wish I coulda gotten video of it!

If this is THE cycle, I guess it will give you some great nickname ideas. Jumping Bean, Hopper...

But seriously, that is definitely strange but interesting.
