Anyone have success with severe endometriosis such as IUI or IVF

Hello everyone,

I'm new to this board, or at least new to posting. I've been viewing it for a few months. I was just wondering if anyone could give me any advice or success stories with endo. My wife and I started trying at home in Feb and with no success for three cycle we moved on to a fertility specialist, where we did three medicated IUI injectible cycles....no success there either. It wasn't until after the three cycle I demanded and lap because I had concerns of endo. I've had every test you can think of and there were no signs of it however I was having all of the symptoms and I knew something was wrong. So my doctor agreed and sent me to a pelvic surgery and I had my lap done about 2 weeks ago. I've been diagnosied with Stage 4 endo and was told my only hope to conceive was IVF.

I don't have any personal experience with endo or IVF. I wanted to congratulate you on speaking up for yourself and insisting on further testing. I'm sorry that the results are limiting your conception methods.

Several folks on this board conceived through IVF. I don't know if their fertility issues were the same, but perhaps they can discuss their concerns, experiences, etc.?

If I were you I'd speak with the nurse and ask for further research or information on IVF for women in your particular situation. I would also see if it made sense to get a second opinion. That's my two cents.

I had success with IVF, but I had "unexplained infertility."

My friend, who is in a heterosexual relationship, has pretty severe endo, but I don't know level/specifics. She has conceived and carried twice with intercourse with her husband and miscarried once.

Once again, I know she's had surgery, but don't know the severity.

I've had laps three times and all three times I've had Stage 4 endo removed. My doctor was shocked at how fast it kept coming back. I conceived on my first IVF cycle.

Thank you so much for your replies. I'll hear what my RE has to say my next steps should be next Monday the 21st...which is also my bday...hoping for some kinda of good news on my day. I've been thinking about a second opinion as well as I'm sure it can't hurt. Thanks again...and I'll update once I know more next week. :)
