Three Month Post Placement Report

So for the first year home a licensed Social Worker needs to come to the house and see how Ty is adjusting. Last Friday was our three month appointment. We have the same Social Worker that did the home study so Will was familiar with her. We had talked about the meeting, the house was clean, the kids were clean, had to take a half day off of work and get the boys out of school early too. So in walks our SW and says hi to the boys - Will proceeds to go outside (and of course I can't be out there and in the house). Ty decides that it's the perfect time to turn on the radio and dance- then he goes to the closet (the one where the last minute clutter of course is hidden) and take everything out.
It went on like this for the entire hour and a half she was here, they wanted something to eat, to drink, they wanted to fight, you name it, they did it! But I have to say the best was when she said to Will "what do you think of Ty and being a big brother" and his answer....
"I wish we could just ship him back to Africa"
Really??? They are no different then any other siblings - best friends one day and enemies the next. So I was really looking forward to seeing this report that she wrote.
It came to me last night via e-mail, 5 pages of how great Ty looks, how adjusted he is, happy and how much he loves us as evident by his happy smiles and frequent hugs!! A perfect placement!! A Will's comment was chalked up as typical siblings!
Now we get to do it again in three months!

I am so blessed that I was able to adopt him, I have always wanted to adopt. It would have been nice to have been able to experience pregnancy again, but he needed us, so I feel like this was the way we were meant to add to our family.
And yes, thank goodness the Social Worker wasn't phased by Will's untimely comment! So funny because he would actually be the first person to protect his little brother, although I don't think he would admit that!
Thanks to you all for your kind words and words of support throughout our adoption process!
