For those of you who used Gonal-F injections (for IUI) what was your starting dose, what cycle day did you start, & for how many days did you do the shots? When my cycle starts I will be using Gonal-F for the 1st time (& hope it works!).
age 45,Minnesota,TTC frozen sperm donor,#1 at home 3 ICIs, BFN.
#2 fertility specialist, Clomid&trigger, IUI BFN, good response, timing off.
#3plan b2bIUIs Clomid&trigger-cycle cancelled poor Clomid response.
#4 used Gonal F &trigger, b2b IUIs, BFN.
Was skipping July cycle due to cysts, was going to TTC later in August, but due to irregular cycles and age issues, decided to stop TTC :(

It really depends on a lot of factors. When I did IUI with Follistem (just like Gonal F) I was on 150IU but now that I'm doing IVF I'm on much higher doses.

As for how long you'll be on it, you are going to be monitored really closely and it might go up or stop based on how you are responding. Usually with IUI they don't want more than 2 follicles mature.

    GOOD LUCK :)
6 IUI's resulting in BFN. 7th IUI was the fun one with pregnant...then not...then ectopic at 7 weeks...IVF #1 - miscarriage...IVF #2 miscarriage 5w6d...IVF #3 cancelled due to not growing embryos and pneumonia...IVF# 4 same old story...BFP then miscarriage...this is getting old...onto possibly Donor Egg or Donor Embryo

Thank you everyone... This is my first time that I will be using injectables so I'm just a little nervous of how my body will respond...

Just spoke w/NP specialist, although she's off all summer she'll do phone calls once a week & be available on weekends for iuis. Turns out I had an anovulatory cycle so I'm going in today for progesterone shot, then should get AF within a week. (I'm 5 days late, odd for me!).

After baseline u/s will start Gonal F 150 on CD3 for 10-12 days (until ovulation), w/follie checks starting CD8. Then trigger when mature, & b2b iuis. Also 1st accupuncture appt tomorrow & have 3 more scheduled next week. Hope this next cycle is the one that works!

Wow!! Thats a lot of Gonal-F for IUIs. I just finished up with my Gonal-F for my IVF cycle (triggering tonight) and was on 150 for 9 days. I had 16 follies measuring between 14-18 yesterday.

    Good luck!!

I think the reason for this amount of Gonal f is because of my age (45) and even if I have several mature follies, they may not contain any eggs/viable eggs... so I need to have more follies in order to get one good egg. From what I understand it is a lower dose anyway and most people at my age start on that dose, and adjust up or down as necessary according to the u/s measurements.

And good luck Shannon- you got a great response to the meds! Hope it results in a bfp! :)
