80% effaced but not dilated :/

I went to the emergency room (L&D) yesterday because of sever pelvic pains. I could barely walk. I was up all night moaning, groaning and crying. My pubic and whole pelvis just felt dislocated. Well the nurse checked me and said im 80% effaced but still completely closed. How long will it take to go from 80% to 100% and at what point will i start to dilate when i get to 100%? Oh and when i was hooked up to the stress moniter she noticed a few braxton hicks contractions. Sometimes my whole uterus tightens up and sometimes i just get lower abdomen period like cramps (like the ones you get before your period actually comes).

I was 75% and 3cm for about two weeks before I was induced. Many have experiences like mine while others are 0% and 0cm to a baby within hours.

Sorry to saay .... but it's a total craps shoot.
I was 80% and 3cm. One doesn't necessarily come before or after the other, and both are fairly unpredictable.

One thing's for sure though ..... you will soon have a baby. :D

    Good luck!!

I know my doc said that being 100% effaced takes about 10 to 12 hours off of delivery, but i guess like you ladies said. it all depends on the woman. im just sooooo ready!
