Missing Second Dip

Well, I have gone through my charts all the way back to the beginning of the year and I have always had a second temp dip a couple of days after the first one. I've never missed it before even when sick or when I took clomid.
This month, I never got the second dip. My temps have all been above or close to 98, which is high for me. After last month's crazy plethora of symptoms that resulted in a BFN I'm afraid to get even a little excited. For those of you who get a second dip, did you miss it when you finally got your BFP? Or, did you have a month without the second dip but still got a BFN? oh yeah, I'm 8 dpi and having mild cramping for the last few days.
