I can't believe that we officially have a 2 year old! Oliver turned 2 on November 12. He is 29.5 lbs and 33 inches tall. His speech is very delayed, and he has been working with a speech therapist since he was 20 months. We actually just had a breakthrough, and he said his first real words last week. So far he has said hot, ball, and boo. I can't even explain the moment of joy I had when he jumped out of the linen closet at me and very emphatically, and very clearly, screamed boo. He has some other developmental delays, but the organization who did his evaluation wasn't concerned because they fell very close to the normal range. Mostly, he struggles with feeding himself using silverware, which is not a huge deal right now. He is a very happy little boy, with the most infectious laugh. He has stopped eating a lot of the foods he was eating before, but will always eat oatmeal or a peanut butter and jelly or honey sandwich.
We did a construction theme for his birthday party, because he is slightly obsessed with anything with big wheels. The gym I go to has some construction going on in the parking lot, and EVERY time we go, we have to stop and say hello to the tractors . We also took a family trip to Magic Kingdom, which was awesome. My parents were able to go with us, which was really fun.
Now for the fun part
Here is the birthday boy before his party. He refused to smile.
Here is the cake I made for the party.
The best part, eating the cake!
At Disney, seeing Cinderella's castle.
