Testing Out the Trigger

This may have been asked before, but I am not in a searching mood.

For those of you who tested out the trigger shot, how long did it take? I am considering testing it out, though the RE's office recommends just waiting two weeks and taking a test. Not sure yet which route I am going to take.

Well I am 14 days past trigger and still have faint positives. I would recommend testing it out so you will know when you have a true positive. Imagine if I just tested today for the first time... I would be so ecstatic! But I'm not because I've seen faint positives for two days now. I can only assume it's the trigger....

Mine always tested out by 8-9dpo, they would be super super faint by then almost like your not sure if you're really seeing a line. 10-11dpo would bring back a faint but definite bfp.

So maybe I should get some cheapie tests and start around day 7/8 or so. I wanted a BFP for Christmas, but that will only be 9dpo, so most likely won't happen. Holding out for a positive for New Years! (that goes along perfectly with my username...lol)

to the last poster. I believe that 14dpo is too late for trigger. you likely had a chemical pregnancy.

Perhaps. It was my iui cycle, but I was given 10,000 units of pregnyl 2 days before iui, 10,000 units 1 day before iui, and 5,000 on the day of. It felt to me like it was just pumped into me so much that it just took forever to get out. But, maybe it was a chemical. Who knows. :(

I was give 10,000 the day before IUI. According to what I've read online, it should be out of my system by next Wednesday. My period is due Thursday. I still haven't decided about testing it out. With Christmas, I don't want to waste a ton of money on tests...nor do I want to see a false BFP get lighter and lighter. Though I know if I get a BFP next Thursday, I will question it. Ugh!

By 15 dpo you should get a nice dark line if it's a BFP, so you'd really only be uncertain if it ends up being a very light line.

That's what I'm thinking. I'm just nervous about this cycle. I really want it to work (don't we all.)

I woke up early this morning with really strong cramps, low down and sharp. I hope it's a good sign, but it seems too early. I'm trying not to focus on every little twinge, but this was undeniable. I've had zero other symptoms and usually I convince myself I have them. LOL

I agree with redheather. 15dpo would be fairly accurate.

Today is 7 days past trigger. I decided to try to test it out. I have 7 New Choice Dollar Tree tests. I took one and the line is so light you can barely see it. Is it normal for it to be practically gone at this point? I'm glad it will be out of my system soon so I can test earlier and hopefully get a BFP.

Tested with FMU, 8 days past trigger and it is gone. Stark white gone!

Guess I didn't need to worry about it lingering. Now let's just hope it starts getting darker in a few days!

I actually got a BFP this morning...9dpo. I am afraid it is left-over trigger, even though the last 2 days the tests have been white. Keeping my fingers crossed, but it is soooooo early. Slightly optimistic. Merry Christmas!

It was a Dollar Tree test. I used the same brand to test out the trigger.

My line is back today (yes, I tested even though I said I wouldn't.) It is very light though. Not really lighter than the first ones, but not darker either. Maybe it's an evap. Maybe it is just the inconsistency in how much hcg the Dollar Tree tests can pick up. Maybe I am just developing "line eyes" and am convincing myself I see something that isn't there.

I'd go get a FRER and try that, but if there is a little bit of the trigger shot left in my system, I'd hate to get my hopes up for nothing. I need to wait until New Year's Eve which is my "official" test date. I doubt I have the strength to do that.
