Got my +opk Saturday afternoon

edited December 2015 in Trying to Conceive
As I suspected, I got a positive on the strips Saturday at 11am so I rushed to the RE and they were long gone for the weekend.
I came home and an hour later it was positive confirmed with a smiley.
This was CD13 for me which is the earliest I've ever gotten a positive. Guess now I know clomid moves up my cycle.
I inseminated last night at 8pm, 8 hours after the +opk because I have ovulated around 13 hours before and with the follicle being as large as it was, I didn't want to miss the egg.
I have not felt ovulation pains but I usually don't and my temp went up .5 degrees from yesterday. I have NO idea if I ovulated.
I'm dissapointed that I couldn't get that IUI at the RE and only had one vial to use at home but that's all I get this cycle.
I guess having one try is better than missing the entire cycle.

My RE's office says if you get a +OPK on the weekend to call and leave a message and they will call someone in to do the IUI if your ovulation pattern appears that you will ovulate before office hours the next Monday. I am sorry your office isn't more helpful and accomodating.

Good luck! I hope this is your BFP!

He wasn't planning on doing an ultrasound at all before CD15. I was the one who had to request it and if I hadn't gone in on Friday, it would've been too late on Monday which is when my original appointment was.

What frustrates me the most is that every time he talks, he makes mention of how difficult it will be for me to get pregnant but doesn't give me reasons of why. After going with the surgery I really thought he was going to jump right in but I'm not feeling his support.
He said he though I will need to go the IVF route which is fine by me as long as we don't waste time and get started soon.

The next RE is 3 hours away and I'm strongly considering trying to get an appointment soon.

That is so frustrating. Did you ask him why he thinks it will be hard for you? It would seem he'd want to offer support and suggestions, rather than just negativity. You are younger than me if I recall, and my RE's office is always very positive. The whole office. It's like they are cheering you on. I told one of the nurses this last time that I am worried it won't work, and she said not to worry, that they will find a way to get me there and it will happen. Maybe they are a little too optimistic, but I guess it is comforting to me. I'd be devastated if my doctor acted like all the money I am spending would likely be for nothing. :( I'm sorry you are going through this. *hugs*

My RE did IUIs everyday whether it was a weekend or not. I mean...how can they not? You can't predict ovulation.

I agree with others...it is odd if the RE does not do IUIs on weekends...I've gone in on holidays before. I'd consider the drive if the other RE is more accommodating. My RE also always calls me back within 30 minutes. He even did so on Thanksgiving day. I feel like it is part of their profession to be honest with you.

Either way, I hope you don't even have to consider these things and that this is your month!

Although I didn't ask, my RE or the ladies at the office, never told me that I could call and get IUI after hours. With what they all told me, it was pretty clear to me it wasn't a possibility.
I might go one more round with this RE only because he has one of my vials and then look up the other one. Might even try and consult before that.

I ovulated yesterday, confirmed by temp. I'm thinking it as around 2-3pm because I did feel a bit of discomfort around that time.
I feel my timing was way off. If I did ovulate at 2p, it means I inseminated 18 hours before O.
I can only hope the sperm was strong enough to make it.

If you ovulated at 2PM, would you consider trying to still do the doctor-assisted IUI this morning? The egg can live 24hrs. You might up your chances if they can get you in very soon.

I didn't go. I know there's a possibility of the egg living a little longer or even ovulating again but I rather do the IUI next month with better timing.
I'll put my hopes in the sperm living long enough to get the egg.
    Thanks all for your support!!
