At home ICI next or IUI at doctor's office?

Today I'm 13/14 days past my at-home ICI. So far all I have gotten was BFNs, including this morning (all with Wondfo test). AF is due this Friday. I don't feel very optimistic that it worked. I've been ttc since July 2012. All in total 6 at-home ICIs and 2 IUI (unmedicated at doctor's office). Tried with two different donors so far. Now I'm wondering if my next try should be at home or an IUI at a doctor's office. What would you do? I'll be 35 in a couple of months.

If you've been trying since 2012 and not having luck, I'd suggest at least getting checked by a doctor to make sure you have no fertility issues. We have been lucky with our at-home tries, but I have no fertility issues whatsoever, so I'm very lucky in that regard, and we've been successful after a couple of months both times trying. TTC can definitely take longer with frozen sperm that with fresh, but if there's a possibility that you have an issue you may not know about, going to the doctor could help figure that part out.

Thanks texasmoms for your reply. Yes, I've been ttc since 2012, but "only" 8 times in total since then. I don't know what issues I could have. When I did my two IUIs the doctor saw a perfect egg. I also have very regular periods. I might try the medicated route next time, even though I have always preferred natural.

A little clomid has been the answer to several women. I would agree that it wouldn't hurt to get checked out and see what an RE would say. It does get a little more difficult as you get older. Good Luck to you.

I decided to see an RE after 8 or 9 failed attempts. I wish I'd gone sooner because it was less stressful despite the added cost. I became pregnant with my son on my first IUI with the RE.

Yes, I guess it's better to go the RE route for my next try. I made an appointment for a consultation on Friday, that is if AF shows (it's due on that day). I'm not very optimistic that I'm pregnant because up until now I've been getting BFNs.

Will your insurance cover costs after six iuis? That might have me moving more quickly toward dr assisted.

I don't think my insurance covers any IUIs. I think they only partially cover one IVF after you have had three unsuccessful IUIs.
