Sorry it took so long to post an update, this new parenthood thing is no joke :P
Labor started around 10:30 pm last Thursday, just in time for his 4-8-16 due date. I went from zero contractions to having them every 2-5 minutes... We got to the hospital, got admitted, and got an epidural right away. I was able to sleep for a few hours after that, even. Dilated to 9.5 but then stalled out. Doc let me try four rounds of pushing, by then I had a fever and baby was not tolerating the pushing well, they suspected a uterine infection and had to do a c-section. I was more disappointed than I thought j would be, not because of fearing the c-section but fearing the recovery after. Still, he was not coming out on his own and would need time in the NICU as it was to fight the potential infection.
He was born at 4:04 PM on 4-8-16, weighing 9lbs 2oz. He had a head circumference of 14.5 inches and the doctors and nurses all kept commenting what a big baby he was - his little head and eyes were bruised from labor, too. At that point I was more grateful for the c-section as even if he had been a vaginal delivery it would have banged both of us up really badly.
Anyway, we were in the hospital for four days. Recovery has been as slow and painful as I expected, got even worse when my milk finally came in and the pain meds could not keep up with everything that hurt all at once. But he's here, and he is so sweet, and his mommies just love him to death.
So here's our little Searc D'Artagnan

I hope you continue to feel better! Are you using an abdominal binder? I was given one in the hospital after my c-section and it really helped. I wore it until about 5 weeks postpartum. Mine was more of a surgical one as opposed to something like the belly bandit.

Hopeful2014 - the hospital didn't give me any kind of binder but I wish they had, or had suggested one. Coughing and laughing have really hurt this past week and I still have to be careful. But after graduating from sweatpants to yoga pants today, the extra support really does make a huge difference!
Our maternity photos were taken by http://www.brionyhopephotography.com, who also came to the hospital to take brand new baby pics, and we just had a studio newborn shoot with her yesterday. She is amazing and we'll be hiring her for all our family portraits from now on, because if she can make an eight-months-pregnant lady feel gorgeous and sexy, she is truly a miracle worker, LOL. So I am going to give her a shameless plug for anyone who lives in the Denver area - she's by far the best value for the money AND the best family photographer in town
Here's another one of my faves from the maternity shoot:

Take it easy recovering from your c-sec! I had a 10 lb 7.5 oz baby via c-sec. I did way too much in the beginning and made my recovery much worse. Rest and let people help you!

Have you thought of trying fenugreek to boost your supply? It almost doubled my supply and my sister-in-laws more than doubled. We both took 1800mgs 3 times a day and there was a noticeable difference in the supply in 24 hours!
Hang in there! I know the first month is tough but it does get easier! Hugs!
