Hello,

I just placed my my first order and will be receiving my sperm next week. This is my wife and I first time trying to get pregnant. Hopefully we are lucky and it works the first time! :) We originally had a friend who agreed to be a donor however he ended up backing out last minute and it was such a huge disappointment. So we decided to try going this route.

Any recommendations out there from anyone on pretty much anything related? Also i have don't a lot of research and get conflicting answers when it comes to timing. Once I test positive for the LH surge is then the right time to do the process or should I wait a few hours.

Also I would like to join the Facebook group. my email is brittanyvenzke@gmail.com

Definitely wait after you get a positive Lh result. I got pregnant the third time we tried and it was actually the longest we waited. We had 3 vials and used the first one 18 hrs after I saw a peak in ovulation. For the next two vials we did them 12 hrs apart. It’s important to remember that it really depends on how long your surge is, I know for some women 18 hrs would be too long if you know you have a short surge. Have you been tracking ovulation previously? Good luck!!

So I luckily got pregnant my second at home ICI attempt. But Ill walk you through both of mine.

    First attempt-
I used clearblue advanced digital ovulation predictor kit.

I also had been monitoring my own cervical mucus for the last few months. (You want egg white/stretchy).

On the ovulation kit I got 5 “high” results 12 hours apart each time.

Stretchy cervical mucus Showed up about 12 hrs before peak.

The sixth time I tested I got “peak”.

I inseminated 12 hours, and then again another 24 hours later (so 12 and 36 hr post surge).

Orgasm before and after both insemination first round.

On both of those inseminations, Hips raised about 20 mins after and I used a soft cup after insemination.

    Big Fat Negative!!!

    Attemped cycle two-

I used clearblue advanced digital ovulation predictor kit.

On the ovulation kit I got 4 “low” results 12 hours apart each time. Slightly panicked because sperm already arrived!

Stretchy cervical mucus Showed up at 4th low.

The 5th time I tested I got “peak” without ever getting a “high”.

I inseminated 12 hours, and then again another 12 hours later (so 12 and 24 hr post surge).

Orgasm before during and after insemination first vial.

Second vial, I was so tired and so frazzled I did the laziest most ho-hum insemination ever. No orgasm, nothing special. However I did notice with this one my cervix was very OPEN (by feel).

On first vial Hips raised about 30 mins after. After second vial, I fell asleep with hips up about an hour and a half.

    Big Fat Positive !!!

Many hopes you have a similar journey.

What do you mean by it depends on how long your LH surge is? I thought that the LH surge was the LH surge and a woman could ovulate anywhere up to 48 hours after. I didn't know the LH surge length and anything to do with it. I just test until I get the surge and then call it a day. Can you elaborate for me, Lavender Moon? :)
