IUI too early?

I think my IUI is scheduled too early. my CD 4 ultrasound showed my uterine lining at 3.58. On CD 12 it was only 1.97. I was on 100 mg clomid this cycle. I usually ovulate later around CD 16 or 17.

Tomorrow they are doing one last scan for this cycle to see if my lining has thickened. If it is at a good level I will take the trigger shot and inseminate at the doctor the next day.

Most likely the IUI will be canceled because I don't think my lining will go from a 2 to a 7 in two days. OPK and clear blue are both showing that I am not fertile yet. I was thinking of holding onto my tank and continuing to test for a surge and inseminating at home after getting a positive if my scan tomorrow shows that at least some thickening has happened.

I have a bunch of great follicles I don't want to miss out on this month. One is 20mm and I have four or five at 15mm. Do you think i should speak with the doctor on delaying my IUI?
