Oh. My. Goodness!!!!

edited February 2011 in Trying to Conceive
I waited a few days to post this...partly because I'm still in disbelief.

I woke up Monday morning (which was, I believe, 11 days past ovulation...but, nonetheless, 12 days and roughly 6 hours past my final AI) and peed in a cup. I used one of the free NW tests as well as a cheapie strip that I'd bought off of eBay. I made myself some tea, checked email, and then came back to check the results. At first, I didn't see a second line on either test. But, after staring at them under a lamp, I was convinced that I saw something. I figured that my mind was playing tricks on me but, still. I determined it was time to break out the big guns! I did a Clearblue Easy Digital. I took my dog for a quick walk and came back...only to find that the digital said "PREGNANT"!!!!!!!!!

Of course, after shaking and hyper-ventilating for a few minutes, I immediately began googling "false positive home pregnancy test" and such. I've continued to test for the past three days...partly because I'm a lunatic; but mainly because I've managed to acquire a plethora of hCG tests during this journey. So, why not use them?!?!? If for no other reason than to convince myself that this is real.

My period was due to start today. Leading up to it, I had none of my normal symptoms (cramping, etc) but didn't really think much of it. Why? Because I also don't feel any pregnancy symptoms. I'm still in shock. This was my third attempt. I had planned to switch donors after three attmepts. My plan for this week had been to research and settle on a new donor. No need for that, huh?

I'm so excited. My hands literally shake everytime I pick up a test that is positive. A part of me is terrified...that something will go wrong, etc. Mostly, though, I'm able to shake those fears when I think about just how lucky and blessed I am. I'm 36 years year old. This only took me three attmepts. I didn't require any sort of medical assistance. I did it all at home, all by my lonesome. I can't put into words just how thrilled and grateful I am right now. I'm simply in love with the whole notion of it.

Thank you all for reading this. More importantly, thank you for the endless amount of support and advice that these forums provide. I may not contribute often, but I do read the forums daily. I've learned so much from so many of you. Beyond that, I am humbled by the level of support and hope that comes from these forums. Thanks to each and every one of you!
