Birth story:
I woke up on Saturday 6/4 and thought that my house was quite dirty and needed a cleaning. (I guess what they say about nesting is true!) I ended up cleaning my house and around 1pm noticed that i had a lot more wetness that I had been having normally and so I put on a pad and continued cleaning....I think that I was in denial! LOL I was having occasional contractions, but nothing regular that I could feel anyway. Around 4 in the afternoon I noticed that the pad had some kinda brown fluid on it and I was also leaking some into the toilet when I went to the bathroom. I decided at that point to call the hospital, who suggested that I come in and get checked out.
When we got to the hospital they tested the fluid that I was leaking and it was confirmed that my water had broken and that it had meconium in it. They explained to me that after the waters break they let women labor for about 24 hours, then move on to other measures. Since I wasn't having any contractions really, they put some gel called cervidel on my cervix that was going to be left there for the night. I had some occasional contractions during the night, but nothing that was regular or getting stronger. In the morning on 6/5 they started pitocin and checked me to see how diliated I was. I was at 3cm at that point. After that my contractions became regular and I labored throughout the day. I eventually ended up getting an epidural because the pain was just too much to handle! At around 8pm they checked me again to see how I was progressing and I was still only 3cm dilated. They told me at that point that I had to have a C-section, which isn't necessarily what I wanted, but had to be done to have a healthy baby.
They gave me some medications to start the anesthesia for the C-section, which ended up lowering my blood pressure dangerously low. I was very "out of it" and sick. I vomited a bunch of times too. During the C-section my husband was allowed in the room with me, and he got to cut her cord. They eventually were able to get my blood pressure up and I was able to see her while my husband held her next to me. After the procedure I was very woosy and tired. They put here on my chest and she was able to nurse skin to skin.
All in all I was in the hospital for 5 days and little girl was very healthy. We went home on Wednesday and so far things have been going good. We are getting into a bit of a routine, and baby A is happy as well. We used donor 9717.

Hey! Sorry it took me awhile to get this. Let me know if you would still like pointers. Being Mom to an infant is time consuming.
