Jan 04th will be my 6th and final IUI :(. The increase in Clomid from 100 to 150 MG did not help but thankfully I had no side effects from it. I am 37 and have no fertility issues and all my labs/levels are great so we are not sure why I have had one successful IUI that ended in MC. I went today for my follicle scan (CD9) because they are closed on 12/31 & 1/1. I had a 13 & 7 on the left & a 13 & 7 on the right and my lining was 4.5. I will trigger on Saturday & have my IUI 36 hours later. I go to acupuncture weekly, take a prenatal, DHA, Royal jelly & Ubiquinol. I talked to my RE about progesterone, he said there is no need for me to be on it. I am using a new donor this cycle as well. If this IUI does not work I get 1 shot @ IVF due to coverage/cost. I am very saddened that I have 2 chances left to have a biological child. I know that I will foster/adopt again regardless of my ability to have a bio child but I so desperately want a bio child as well. I am not sure what else I can be doing to help any of this and for this cycle to be successful. Any advice you ladies can share is greatly appreciated.

I hope this is the time that works for you! I know how draining this whole process is, and how the cost becomes so overwhelming. It is such a frightening thing to go through. Sending positive thoughts and prayers your way.

I do not agree about the progesterone not helping. studies show it does and THIS alone is the hormone that KEEPS you pregnant. if its too low, the egg/embyro dies OR the lining disintegrates before the egg can implant. so that is some absolute hog wash crap that dr is telling you. I would demand it, switch drs or buy it yourself out of pocket from inhousepharmacy.vu

Actually... There's been very recent studies highlighted in mainstream media, literally last week, again saying added progesterone did not affect outcomes of pregnancies in any meaningful data. This is not the first study by far to say so. There's no scientific support for taking progesterone.. but it doesn't hurt. It's basically been proven a placebo. Don't shoot the messenger.

    The exception being IVF. FYI.

I was not able to do IVF...and honestly I used prescription progesterone for 8 of my 9 pregnancies...and it didn't help me carry a baby to term. The most it did was delay bleeding. I started taking it 2 days after ovulation for every single AI for years. It was hard to take as the more I used it..even though the strength was the same I had progressively worse pregnancy symptoms. I guess it has to be a personal decision.

Thank you ladies. I am looking to do anything and everything I can for this iui to work. I don't not want to use my lifetime coverage for Ivf as I hope to have a full sibling someday and will most likely need it for that.

I hope that this IUI results in a happy and healthy baby for you.

As an aside, if you ever use your IVF coverage I'd like to share this process seems to be much less stressful than physician assisted IUI. I'm in the beginning stages of IVF and everything is so planned out and well timed. It almost feels smooth and easy compared to my other attempts.

Thank you! I have heard that about ivf and many people have said that if they had known it would be that smooth etc they would have gone straight to ivf. I hope that everything goes well for you. When I started this journey a year ago I kept having dreams of a curly redheaded little girl. I just had the same exact dream two nights this week. this is the only donor that could possibly give me a redheaded child (this is the first time i have used him). So I am hoping that is a sign!
