When did you call your OB?

So I've been followed by an RE for the past several months getting myself pregnant and now that I am...I'm lost! I don't even have a clue what to do next!
For those of you who used RE's when did you call an OB to start seeing them? Right away? Did you wait a while?
I've gotten some good recommendations in my area for OB's but I'm hesitant to call until tomorrow when I get my 2nd beta.
Thoughts?

6 IUI's resulting in BFN. 7th IUI was the fun one with pregnant...then not...then ectopic at 7 weeks...IVF #1 - miscarriage...IVF #2 miscarriage 5w6d...IVF #3 cancelled due to not growing embryos and pneumonia...IVF# 4 same old story...BFP then miscarriage...this is getting old...onto possibly Donor Egg or Donor Embryo

I think most REs will do an initial u/s then release you... but it can't hurt to call your RE to see when they recommend talking to a OB. you'll see your RE tomorrow, right?

Boy, n.: a noise with dirt on it.
I did make an appt with the OB who will do my care, I will see him next week, about 9 wks pg.... so there will be a little overlapping for a couple of weeks...
: ) Congrats again! Can't wait to see your numbers tomorrow!!!
Welcome Baby Madelynn! 11/29/11
For example, my RE did many ultrasounds the first few weeks to ensure the gestational sac was in the uterus (and not an ectopic). Then to see that there was a fetal pole in the gestational sac. Then again to see a heartbeat in the fetal pole. The another to check growth and the cervix.... My friends who used just an OB didn't have any ultrasound monitoring till around 20 weeks.
My OB also said they don't give progesterone supplements till there is a history of repeat miscarriage. My RE gave it to everyone who was doing IUI. So some differences
