HELP-Should I send my vials back???

Hi I'm on CD12 (of a 25 day cycle) and yesterday afternoon I did ICI at home because I had signs of ovulation such as strong ferning from saliva test (which was strong for the 2 days before also), open cervix, and stretchy cm.
Now today when I did the saliva test there is barely any ferning, I still have negative OPK, and my cervix doesn't feel as soft although it seems still open and cm is still stretchy (but I'm not sure since I only started checking my cervix this week and never felt it before).
So now I'm worried that I have missed my ovulation, that it was earlier than I thought... (according to all ovulation calendars ovulation is today). At first I was thinking that my ovulation is late because of all the stress of worrying about this whole process of ICI and timing, etc... but now that my ferning is so weak I'm not sure what to do- plus I never got a smiley at all...I didn't start OPK until CD8 and now I'm thinking I should have started on CD6 just to have been sure that I didn't miss it and now I don't know...
So I was thinking that I should just send back my remaining 2 vials cause I don't want to waste them if I already missed ovulation and who knows, maybe the ICI yesterday will result in a miracle.
But, if I ignore the ferning saliva test, then maybe my ovulation is late and the surge can still happen? I'm not sure how likely this is...
I'm feeling discouraged and confused.
Also what happens when you send back vials? How do I know they will survive the trip back? Dewar arrived on Monday so it should be ok until Monday so if I return it by then will the swimmers still be ok? And anyone know about storage at NW when you send them back?........... or should I just keep them, insert them anyway, and toss this up to a learning experience?

10 TTC's over 15 months - all BFN
Good Luck. If you send them back, I would keep doing OPKs so you'll know for next time.
I haven't been temping because I have poor sleeping habits, but I will start tomorrow- may not help, but can't hurt.

Fingers crossed for you too NVL! I'm going to go to the store today to get some line ones so maybe I can see if they are getting darker or lighter, to use in addition to my smileys since no smiley is showing up.

I tried to check my cervix several days ago using a speculum for the 2nd time but ended up scratching my cervix when I was removing it and it was bleeding slightly from it so that scared me so I won't look again with a speculum. Now I'm checking just by feeling, and it is hard for me to tell since this is also the first week I've been feeling it. It does seem open, yet not as soft as it did a few days ago , but it's hard to tell...But I do feel "wetter" than I was at the beginning of the week, and cm is still stretchy, so I just don't know... I'm thinking that the stress is getting to me and that is why my smiley is late. Boy do I wish there was a better way to figure out my body!
I did buy more OPK tests, another clearblue digital one and then cheaper cvs brand ones that show lines, not smileys so maybe that way I could see if they are getting darker or lighter.
